Man Deported From U.S. 4 Times Is Arrested In Worcester

On Wednesday, Nov. 4, Milton Javier Cardona-Guevara, 34, was charged with one count of illegal re-entry into the United States after deportation, according to the U .S. Attorney’s Office, Massachusetts.

Cardona-Guevara’s deportations go back all the way to August 2006 when he first entered the U.S. illegally, according to court documents. Cardona-Guevara was deported less than a month after entering the country.

In 2008 and 2011, Cardona-Guevara was caught illegally entering the U.S. again and was deported, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said.

At some point, Cardona-Guevara came back because, in October 2018, he was arrested in Worcester on a charge of assault with a dangerous weapon. He was deported from the U.S. for the fourth time in January 2019.

Again, Cardona-Guevara re-entered the U.S. - allegedly by illegal means - and was arrested in Worcester on Oct. 13 on an outstanding warrant, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said. Cardona-Guevara was held on state criminal charges until he was charged in federal court.

If found guilty of illegal re-entry, Cardona-Guevara faces up to two years in prison, one year of supervised release, and a fine of $250,000.

Among the agencies that worked on the investigation, arrest, and prosection of Cardona-Guevara are the U.S. Attorney’s Office, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), and Worcester Police.
